Despite the woefully dire predictions of the BBC and the Met Office, the day dawned bright and sunny with light winds, and temperatures reached 23C in the afternoon.
Over 30 vintage Pipers and their crews flew in to enjoy this charming aerodrome where Spitfires regularly departed, turning at low level over our flight line.
