The weather at Shobdon was lovely for most of Saturday and Sunday, although it did cloud over late Saturday afternoon. Other than a short period of light rain we never saw the 12 hours of rain that was forecast and those who camped, well their tents hardly got wet. Other parts of the country didn’t fair quite so well as Pete white, our Aeronca Club host, never managed to leave his home base at Bodmin, such was the weather there. However, the fine weather at Shobdon only managed to attract 11 US classics on Saturday with another 4 attending on Sunday. We were joined by Jo Clark who drove over from West Wales on Saturday and it’s fair to say that all who attended the meet enjoyed their visit. The US classics in attendance were:-
Aeroncas: G-BRHP; G-BRCW; G-ATHK. Cessnas: G-ARFO; G-BOCI.
Luscombes: G-AJKB; G-BULO. Stinson: G-BPTA
Pipers: PA-22 G-ARNJ; PA-15 G-FKNH; PA-17 G-BSMV; L-18 G-AYPM (115 373); J-3 G-NCUB; PA-22 G-PAXX; PA-28 G-ATON (new member based at Shobdon)
